I haven’t shot much, if any, regular season sports in the past year. The con is that I don’t get much of a refresher before state finals. On the positive side, it means when I do cover a game, it’s typically one that really matters to the players. And that shows.
Getting carried off the field after a game winning single in the bottom of the 7th (and final) inning isn’t necessarily something that would happen in the regular season, but in a best-of-three series, each win is a huge deal. That showed in Lugoff-Elgin High School’s reaction following their 4-3 win over Darlington High School.
The teams will face-off again on Thursday, June 2nd for game 2.
