Sometimes life calls for a milkshake. 

As I was pulling out of a Cookout drive-thru with celebratory post-Covid-vaccine shake (!!!) on Friday, I noticed a fire in the Golden Corral parking lot across the street. There were what looked to be three buses and a group of people in orange shirts standing nearby. 

Upon closer inspection, I realized the bus was carrying members of the Mercer University football team. The Bears were heading north from Macon to Lexington, Virginia, where they are scheduled to play the Virginia Military Institute Keydets on Saturday.

Members of the team, as well as staff and bus personnel were able to retrieve the teams gear before it sustained any damage.
