#ICantBreathe Protests, Day 2

Protests over the killing of George Floyd, and police brutality against the black community, continued today in Columbia. Again, the crowd organized at the State House and marched down Main Street. And again, they intended to march to the police department.

Road blocks kept protestors from getting to the police department, and after trying several routes the crowd faced off with various law enforcement on the street roughly a block behind the department.

As tensions rose, rubber bullets (or possibly bean bag rounds) and tear gas were dispersed into the crowd, and multiple people were taken into custody.

The group reformed at the State House a short time later with a different vibe. Tensions were still running high, but it focused more on the catalyst of the nationwide wildfire - George Floyd.

Perhaps, at least locally, focus is being restored on the problem and progress can be made.
