Florida has two seasons: Heaven and Hades. Don’t get me wrong, I love the summers here. Diving is one of my favorite hobbies, and winter isn’t exactly highlighted by calm seas or clear water.
But if you want to go for a hike, there’s nothing like a 75 degree day in early February to trek through the scrub under clear blue skies. Even the wildlife seems to enjoy laying out and getting soaking up the sun (even if it is only because they are cold blooded and need that warmth to keep their metabolism going).
These three gators - little guys between 4’ and 6’ long - were spotted in a canal located in the Fort Drum Marsh Conservation Area.
